He was born on November 11, 1821 in Moscow. Father — Mikhail Andreevich Dostoevsky, a doctor. Mother — Maria Fedorovna. In 1837 he moved to St. Petersburg. In 1843 he graduated from the Main Engineering College. In 1849, he was sentenced to death in the Petrashev case, but later, it was replaced by a four-year penal servitude. In 1857 he married Maria Isaeva. In 1867, he married Anna Snitkina, with whom he had 4 children. He died on February 9, 1881, at the age of 59. He was buried at the Tikhvin Cemetery in St. Petersburg. Main works: "Crime and punishment", "Demons", "Idiot", "Brothers Karamazov", "Player" and others.
